Americas Giving Challenge – Won $10,000 and raised over $32, 000

At the close of the Americas Giving Challenge on Friday November 6, at 3PM EST, we finished the contest in fifth place, having mobilized 2,556 individual donations and raised over $32,000. In addition, having placed in the first 7 places, SFP received a $10,000 prize. Thank you to all those of you who helped make this happen! We couldn’t have done it without you!

This season’s Americas Giving Challenge that started on October 7, 2009 has finally come to a close. The Challenge, an online competition that provides a platform for individuals and nonprofit organizations to leverage online and offline personal networks for Causes they care about, provides award prizes between $10,000 - $50,000 to the overall winners - the Causes that are able to aspire the largest number of daily online donations.

Considering that over 7,800 teams entered the Challenge, this is indeed a tremendous achievement. All this was achieved with four weeks rallying supporters, getting them engaged and encouraging online donations through the Causes application of Facebook.  It was also a journey to revive new relations, inject new energies within our team and among our supporters, and reconnect in new ways.

In all, we are truly glad and appreciate our supporters, who are our true heroes. Again we thank you so much for your support!  You made it all possible. Your support will go a long way in enhancing our global peace communities initiatives. Your vote with us was indeed a VOTE for a better world!
