Service For Peace (SFP) Philippines
Started in the year 2002 through series of service projects participated by young people from different communities, Schools and Universities nationwide, it was registered as an NGO in the Securities and Exchange Commission in the year 2006. Composed of young and vibrant volunteer-staff and dynamic Board of Trustees, the organization had gone a long way. Through the projects that were conducted and with all the trainings undergone by staff, SFP Philippines continuously close to realizing its vision, mission and principles with its new directions and thrusts: building COMMUNITIES OF PEACE in its partner communities and its campus based organizations. Taking COMMUNITY DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT as its approach and working closely with GLOBAL PEACE CONNECT (GP CONNECT!), all Communities of Peace are empowered towards SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS using the CDD approach. SFP serves as implementing arm of GP Connect for its kick-off projects in the community.
BUILDING COMMUNITIES OF PEACE
For the past year, the ALSALAM MUSLIM COMMUNITY in BGY CULIAT, QUEZON CITY, has been very active with their different endevours in the community. As a commnunity service area, Global Peacemakers have done a lot of service in the community such as , repainting of school, public plaza and refurbishing of Madrassa among others. At present.Culiat is one of the areas for:
ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM (ALS)
A DepEd program, adapted by SFP, that enables out-of-school young people to go back to out of the box and practical learning process to gain their diploma in elementary and high school level and will eventually prepare them to work for a living. ALS project is in partnership with GPFF Philippines
Other COMMUNITIES OF PEACE includes:
WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY - SFP CHAPTER; CABANATUAN CITY - A university-based organization accredited by the school to head all their community work
EULOGIO AMANG RODRIGUEZ INTEGARTED SCHOOL (ERIS) - Both an elementary and high school, the children are thought with the values of service by empowering their organization and doing service in the campus and community.
With the partnership in the communities and public schools, another SFP project has been initiated: the
BACKPACK-ANGEL PROJECT - a drive to collect educational tools and materials, in cash or in kind for the indigent kids in the Philippines.
Other activities and projects:
Volunteer Resource and Development or VRD (formerly Leadership Training Through Service (Service Workshop Adventure Training-SWAT).
A program that will create a substantial tracking system for volunteer management, from recruitment to deployment and from monitoring to identification of potential and skilled leaders as PEACEMAKERS who are capable of working with people and identifying and addressing community needs. Partnership with possible sources of volunteers and advocacy of the organization's cause will also be under the program.

Muslim-Christian Cooperation (MCC)
Islam, generally, has a stigma of sterio-typed issues that affects their inter-personal and diplomatic relationship with Christians that usually are the root causes of conflicts. Both the groups should respect one another by learning and understanding their respective faith,culture and beliefs. Hence, This program was made to established trust between the two groups to develop synergy and solidarity, thereby, initiating peacemaking efforts for their communities and the country as a whole.
Support and Help Indigenous People (SHIP)
Indigenous People (IP) are the cultural minorities in the country. A lot of them if not all, are sometimes not the priorities in development agenda that results to poverty. This program is for different endeavor for IP's community building, not forgetting their innate indigenous culture and tradition. Projects are onto literacy programs for the youth and the elderly, health education, building medical assistance and facilities and other infrastructure. The program gives the right to protect and claim their ancestral domain and more importantly meeting their basic needs.
Save Protect and Care for Environment or SPACE Program
This program is inline with the the UN MDG Goal 7; To ensure environmental Sustainability. For the year 2009-2010, SFP Philippines have come with a project for environmental awareness campaign for the restoration of Laguna Lake, one of the country's largest and most useful lakes. Sadly, water pollution seems to be a main problem due to some irresponsible doings of the people along the coast line and not to mention the industrial wastes. In partnership with Bodyshop Foundation, interventions to restore the lake has been started.

2. Global Youth Service Day (GYSD)
Global Youth Service Day is the largest annual celebration during April 20-22, where millions of young people, young volunteers, in countries everywhere highlight and carry out thousands of community improvement projects.
3. International Day of Peace (IDP)
The International Day of Peace provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to create practical acts of Peace on a shared date. The International Day of Peace is used annually to highlight the decade for a culture of peace and non violence for the children of the world, 2001 to 2010. Established by a United Nations resolution in 1981, the International Day of Peace was celebrated for a first time in September 1982.
4. International Volunteers Day (IVD)
International Volunteers Day provides an opportunity, every 5 of December, for volunteering-involving organizations and individual volunteers to work together on projects and campaigns promoting their contributions to economic and social development at local, national and international levels - to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. Over the years, rallies, parades, community volunteering projects, environmental awareness, and free medical care and advocacy campaigns has all featured prominently on IVD.
